Also known as a High Wall split air conditioning unit, a split system is a perfect option to cool or heat just one room or area in your home, office or workplace.
Split system air conditioners have both an indoor and outdoor unit, but have no ceiling ducting as they deliver air directly from the indoor unit which is generally installed high up on a suitable wall.
The indoor unit pushes the conditioned air effectively to all parts of the room.
An important aspect of a high wall split system air conditioner is the capacity or size of the outdoor unit, which is determined by the size of the area you wish to cool or heat.
An undersized unit will have to run at maximum capacity more often. This could result in insufficient cooling or heating and increased wear. A capacity of equal or slightly greater capacity for the room is advised. Too much will waste energy and increase power usage as the air conditioning unit will tend to overcompensate to the small space.
